A barefoot barn wedding –
Wedding photographer Frankfurt
I met Luki and Annika at their friend’s wedding in 2016 (note to self: I need to blog the amazing wedding of Lisa and Philipp!) and when they contacted me half a year later and told me that they got engaged and want me to photograph their wedding I was head over heels as these two are just such a love and fun filled couple!
Long story short – we found a date that suited the bridal couple and my schedule and locked it in!
About 15 months later (and some gin-and-tonic-skype-sessions later, too) I met Anni and Luki at a beautiful wedding location near Frankfurt, Gut Hühnerhof and what started with a super relaxed getting ready turned into an amazing wedding day!
Anni got ready with her girls around her and Belen, her hairdresser did the most amazing updo with Anni’s dreadlocks! Whoever thinks you can’t wear dreads in a festive and chic way: Check out Anni’s beautiful bridal hair-do with dreadlocks, it was the bomb!
After the bride slipped into her stunning wedding dress it was time for the first look with her groom Lukas, who in the meantime got ready with his groomsmen…
Gosh – they made me tear up during the first look! Both of them are such a fun couple but feeling the incredible and deep love that connects them was so emotional when they saw each other first as bride and groom, I was so happy I got to capture these memories for them!
We took some time for bridal portraits after the first look and went for a little spin with the super cool wedding car: a VW T1 – Anni’s and Lukas’ absolute dream car!
Later on the groom headed to the ceremony location with his groomsmen and Annika, her dad and the bridesmaids cruised to the beautiful ceremony location at the castle “Schloss Steinau” in the amazing T1 wagon…what can I say? Songs were sung and so much fun was had on the ride there!
When we arrived at the castle, Simone, the most amazing wedding celebrant I have met so far in Germany came around and greeted the bride with the biggest and most welcoming hug! She wore a colourful headscarf African style as the couple has a deep connection with Africa, isn’t that wonderful!?
Shortly after the barefoot wedding ceremony started of on the lawns of the castle…all the wedding guests joined Anni and Luki with being barefoot and Simone held the most wonderful and intimate (and fun) wedding ceremony for the bridal couple!
Afterwards there were drinks to be had, hugs to be exchanged and jokes to be told at the castle before all wedding guests headed to the reception at Gut Hühnerhof and the wedding couple, the bridal party and I went for a little picnic and some bridal party photos! The couple and their groomsmen and bridesmaids arrived relaxed and full of positive energy about half an hour after the other guests at the reception location and this is when the party really started!
DJ Freddy definitely did an outstanding job! He took care of the music during the afternoon drinks, looked after music and speeches at dinner and started an amazing and long lasting party!! What a night it was!
I must say, I rarely enjoyed working on a wedding that much…everything just felt right: the couple was so.much.fun! And all the vendors did an outstanding job…I had never met Simone and Freddy but they are now definitely on my “favourites” list as preferred vendors!
Annika and Lukas! Thank you for trusting in my work, for a fantastic day and for connecting me to even more amazing people…I can’t wait to see you again soon…
