Melbourne Wedding Photographer –
A lovely DIY wedding in Queenscliff
This wedding story started on a cold Saturday night in December…we are just out for dinner with friends when – once again, I am guilty of having my phone on me at the table…- I get a lovely comment to one of the photos I had previously posted on my Facebook page. I respond and say thank you and all of a sudden I start chatting Lisa.
Half an hour later I got a long and lovely email from her, asking me to photograph her and Mark’s wedding in Queenscliff, VIC. Of course I say yes!
About two months later we meet for the first time in person and as we feel that the connection we had via email exists in person, too. Lisa arranges the most amazing picnic I have ever seen and I feel absolutely delighted to take the couples engagement photos just shortly before their wedding. I truly believe these photos sessions help couples to relax more during the wedding day when we are taking portraits so I am always extremely glad if my couples choose to take engagement photos…
Only a few days later I meet Lisa down the Great Ocean Road way for the getting ready for her wedding. The bride and bridesmaids are getting ready at the house of Lisa’s granny and it is a wonderful and heartfelt morning, I pretty much immediately fall in love with Lisa’s granny and we are all having a great morning.
A few hours later, after Lisas mom and dad had joined the getting ready party to pick up Lisa’s super cute niece (isn’t she stunning with her little curls?) we drive down to Queenscliff and a perfect wedding day starts at the lovely Wedding location, just besides the ocean beach…
Lisa and Mark get married in a wonderful outdoor ceremony and all their loved ones are there to witness their love – isn’t this perfect?!
The afternoon is well spent with outdoor games, nibbling on delicious finger food, prepared by The RK Group and filled with laughters and love.
We take a walk down the beach and to the old train station for some portraits with the bridal party and everybody is happy when the groomsmen present some sparkling and nibbles they had sneaked out to cater for the bridal party during the portraits… Oh and yes, we might or might not have to escape from the train station which makes us all laugh and smile about it… Cheers to a relaxed bridal party who goes on adventures with me!
After another little walk and a drive back to the Clydesville house Lisa changes into her second dress which is absolutely stunning, too and we listen to some wonderful speeches. When the sun has set I take bride and groom out one more time to enjoy a few moments in silence…we walk down the beach and see the moon rise. It is a beautiful moment and I truly appreciate the chance of taking some night wedding portraits for Lisa and Mark…
After cutting the delicious cake (how cute is that cake topper by the way!?) the dancing commences and bride and groom start into a wonderful night full of good music, smiles and love…
Lisa and Mark – thank you so much for having me as your wedding photographer down in Queenscliff! It means a lot to me to have shared your unique day with you and I am so glad I go to capture all your special moments for you…it is a pleasure to have met you and I can’t wait to see you guys again!
