Perth Wedding Photographer –
A perfect Perth CBD Wedding
It is Saturday morning in January 2016 and Ingo and I are visiting friends of our in Berlin…I wake up before Ingo, which is quite typically for us on a weekend. I don’t want to wake him up so I slowly grab my phone to read a bit. I never want to do this before I actually get up but only rarely I can refuse to actually do it: so I end up checking my emails. Some advertising, a clients response, an entry on my contact form on my website… I read. And I get excited.
I quite often connect with what my clients write in the contact from and as per usual I am excited and happy about a booking request. But Brie’s message gets me even a little more excited. Her email is extremely long and she opens up to me – who is a total stranger in that case – and tells me so much about her relationship to Shane. I immediately feel like they are already friends of ours! They’ve got two dogs and a cat and I think I am right when I say they love them as much as we love our fur babies…
Countless emails, quite a few FaceTime sessions and over a year later I meet Brie and Shane in the fabulous hotel “Como The Treasury” in Perth for the first time in person. We hug and all three of us feel like we are meeting an old friend… We have a look at the venue they chose to have their first look at, I join them for their wedding rehearsal and meet their friends and family for some drinks. What a perfect welcome to Perth they gave me!
Two days later, it is a Sunday in February, it is Brie and Shane’s wedding day. I start the day of by meeting Shane and his lovely parents in the Hilton Hotel Perth for the grooms getting ready and after a while I make my way out to Brie, who is getting ready at home so their two dogs and the cat, Teo can be part of the day, too. Brie is getting styled by the talented team of The Pretty Parlour and her lovely sister is opening the door for me…the girls are having a nice and relaxed getting ready and are later joined by their dad. And then Brie gets into her stunning Solo Merav wedding gown and she takes our all breath away and even Lilly, her usually excited dog seems to be speechless by her pretty mom…
When the chauffeur with the wedding car picks us all up to drive to The Treasury we can all feel the excitement pick up and I know Brie is ready to see her lovely groom for the first time in their wedding attire…
Brie and I go up to the room where Shane is waiting for her and after letting Shane know that his bride is on the way, I leave bride and groom all the room they need to enjoy the special moment of their first look. I truly appreciate these moments of a wedding and the trust, my couples bring towards me with allowing me to join these precious moments, means a lot to me.
After some very romantic and intimate moments the couple and I take a walk through the wonderful hotel which The Treasury truly is and take some of their portraits…about 20 minutes later the groom is picked up to go down the street to Linton and Kay Galleries, an art gallery in Perth, where the ceremony will be held in only a few moments… Brie, her dad, her sister and I get taken to the gallery with the next car and a wonderful and heartfelt ceremony starts. Wendy, the marriage celebrant is truly doing an amazing job and it is all brought to perfection by the stunning flower arrangements, done by Annaliese of Signature Flower Designs.
After an exit with flower pedal rain and a lot of hugs and congratulations the couple and the bridal party join me for some more portraits which are brought to perfection by having Lilly, the wonderful dog of Brie and Shane in them, too. A little while later we head to Lamonts Bishop House in Perth CBD, where the fabulous reception starts right after the entrance of the bridal party.
The Gather and Hunt Wedding Stylists have done an wonderful job and the marquee in front of Lamont’s is stunningly decorated. All details are thought through and super well organised – it is just a pleasure to look around, no matter where! Bride and groom spend a wonderful wedding reception night with all their friends and family (I am wanting to keep this text short but I need to mention the amazing rap which Brie’s brother in law half for the couple!) and finally end it with a wonderful sparklers exit to start into their well deserved honeymoon…
Brie and Shane – thank you so much for trusting in me and my work and for flying me to the other side of the world! You two are amazing and I am so glad to not only call you my customers but most importantly my friends now!
