A Mountain Wedding in Austria –

Ela and Sven had such a wonderful and amazing wedding day in the beautiful mountains of Vorarlberg – you could call it a picture perfect mountain wedding! (Watch their trailer video here…)

The fact that they found me on Pinterest did already give me a hint about Ela’s passion in details and pretty things…which proofed right when I met them for their engagement photos (you can find them here) at the Lake Constance. Her passion in decoration, colours and details showed everywhere in the wedding. This wonderful couple is originally form Cologne and for work they have moved to Austria. So they planned their wedding in their new home to show their friends and family where they live now and what they love about it. So they found a wonderful mountain location to host the reception and party. The Millrütte is a stunning location for weddings – very rustic and the service and kitchen are amazingly good. And also it is situated in a wonderful landscape – it just takes your breath away!
So bride and groom got ready at the Millrütte and then they had their traditional catholic wedding ceremony in Fraxern. The church there has an amazing look over the surrounding mountains and is a beautiful setting for a wedding. Afterwards all the guests and the couple hopped into a shuttle bus and the reception at Millrütte started…
Ela and Sven did what I would love all my couples to do: they had a wonderful and intimate first look and we took their couple portraits afterwards. I do love first looks! This is definitely the most intimate and romantic way to make the groom see the bride for the first time…it is only bride and groom and they take their time to really take in the experience of seeing each other for the first time all done up and beautiful. I believe this is much more romantic than the groom seeing the bride for the first time when she walks down the isle…

And as you will see when you look through the photos we also had the wonderful chance to have a second very short portrait session just before the sun started to go down behind the mountains…
